I don’t have a television. I haven’t owned one since I started going to college back in 1995. I don’t miss it at all.

The main reason I do not own a television is because I get sucked into it and I lose all track of time and desire to do anything besides watch. My eyes glaze over, I start to drool, and I feel my brain melting. Especially during the commercials. I HATE commercials.

I actually allow myself to watch television when I’m over at my girlfriend’s place. We started watching Criminal Minds because that’s what was on during “date night”. We’ve been watching it for quite a while now but there have been more and more times when it is a repeat. But that’s OK. She got the first season on DVD from the library and we were able to watch through those episodes.

Something else we watch on DVD is a series called A Haunting. I think I’m totally addicted to finding as much information as I can about any kind of paranormal activity. I’ll consider it “research”.

Since I started writing a strip about a ghost, I wanted to see what else was out there in the way of ghost shows and paranormal stuff. I’ve watched a few episodes of The Dead Files, Unexplained Mysteries, Paranormal Witness, Haunted Collector, Extreme Paranormal, Living With The Dead, Ghost Hunters International… And I have to say that the one I like the most is The Dead Files, because they actually do some research on the haunted site that ends up explaining some of the disturbances. Some of the other shows like Extreme Paranormal are just dumb. A few knuckleheads get to go to these places and “provoke” the spirits. They don’t do much else.

In any case, does anyone have suggestions or recommendations for other ghost shows? What about ghost hunting or other paranormal books?
