These weeks have been crazy.

I am happy to announce that I have received financial support and have been accepted into the Training Benefits Program that is provided by Washington State Unemployment Insurance. Basically, I get to go to school for the next 10 months AND collect unemployment insurance at the same time. I’ll be “going to school” online with UW studying Digital Art. I’ll finally be learning Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, and InDesign.

On a different note, sometimes I have flashes of inspiration and need to act upon them immediately. Most of the time real life gets in the way and I am left feeling helpless to carry out some of my own brilliant ideas. But now that I do not have to work, I have the time to go do random/fun/stupid things. My latest idea was to take the Doomie doll to several “haunted” places in Seattle to take her photo. Since I was planning on handing her off to a friend of mine who will take her on a trip to China very soon, I only had one week in order to get as many photos as possible. I spent a couple late nights doing some research and plotting my paths and destinations. I did a LOT of bike riding and hit almost all of the spots I had planned. It was very fun being a tourist in my own city. I met a bunch of people and found things I would have never thought existed. But after telling you about this, I hope you do not expect me to post all those photos right away.

I’m saving them.

I’ll only post them a few at a time. It may be only once per week or once every other week. It depends on how much research I’ll be able to do for each location. The photos and research will be posted in a category I’ll call “Seattle’s Haunted Spot of the Week” or something to that effect. I hope you’ll like it.

I’ve also decided to stop posting the Song Of The Day in the Blog section of this site. Instead, they’ll be in the right-hand column and hope you’ll be kind enough to scroll down and click on the link.

Oh, and feel free to click on any of the links I’ve added to the site under the comics and in the margins. The more people click, the more traffic that my site will get in return. Think of it like your helping other people fins out about my strips. You can vote for Overcast With A Chance Of DOOM! on the Top Horror Comics site by simply pressing on the VOTE button in the left margin. I appreciate it!
